The question has been asked, "Why don't you do more craft shows?". The answer is more complicated than it sounds.
I have tried multiple events during the fall/winter season and found that it is a lot of work. The in person events mean that you set up your booth before the show starts. This means I break down all my folding tables and load them in the car. I also load all the plastic totes full of my finished items in the car. If there are any other items needed for the show, such as a clothes rack to hang aprons on, it has to go in the car, too. Once at the show location, all that stuff has to be unloaded from the car and set up at the event.
The hard part is done but now comes the show and after that, anything that did not sell is loaded back in the car. That includes the tables and props, too. For a one day show, this is a lot to do in a short period of time. For a multiple day shows, it is easier but think of location and security.
Now along with all that work add in the fact that Multiple Scelorisis is like the mouse in the pocket that goes every where I go. The most common side effects are faitigue and weakness. MS also commonly affects eyesight as well, so limited driving after dark.
As much as I enjoy the in person events and the feedback from happy customers and friends, these shows take a huge toll on me. Therefore, I am putting focus on my online shop. So when see I am doing an event, it is a great time to see my craft items in person. Hand crafts are truly better in person so stop by when I post about craft shows.
