Last week my right hand decided to take a break from work.  That is a simple explanation for Multiple Sclerosis in my body.  I can celebrate that I have no new lesions but progression and episodes can still occur.  Lucky for me, my episodes have been mild to moderate thus far.

So back to the hand issue....It is not carpal tunnel, however, there appears to be a hint of arthitis (spelling).  I have had my hand checked (Nerve Conduction Test) by two different neurologists.  In addition, I have had x-rays and such with orthopedics.  Through all that, I had trigger thumb which was resolved with a couple of cortosoine shots.  However, in the overall picture, there is nothing wrong.

Coming back to the hand pain, lack of movement and numb feeling.  Apparently, this is a gift from MS and it just keeps giving and giving!  There is nothing medically wrong except for the signal that my brain gives my body.  Yes, the  Arthritis can be part of problem since I am right hand dominate.  However, the bigger issue being the MS and the signals to my neves.  The signals for my nerves don't work correcly due the MS - think of your phone signal fading in and out - can you hear me now!

During the final craft show, my brace was worn to alleviate movement.  Then at home, I use my compression gloves at night and while resting.  Since I use my hands for both my work around the house and my creative work, things can be slower.  I decided that I will make some covers to chair cushions for our dining table before the holiday.  This isn't really resting my hand, but too much inactivity can be just as bad.  So some light work while the pain recedes to the point where I can be more fully functionaly.  As functional as the MS will allow!
