Summer is here and calling me to the outdoors. This year, I was able to plant a small 20 x 6 garden in our backyard. In addition to the large barrels of garden goodies, the garden has kept me busy.
Of course, if you have a garden, you know there are going to be weeds. There in lies the problem. The weeds grow in and around all the corn, onion, pumpkins, green beans, peppers, zuchhini and strawberries. Plus we have several areas of the yard that the previous owner planted lots of lovely flowers.
Don't get me wrong, I truly enjoy our little yard but not so much the weeds. It is difficult to juggle the heat, my energy levels, my physical ability and time to truly stay on top of it all. We have gravel walkways, so now that I finally got wise, I sprayed all the gravel areas. That will save me some time and energy.
Given all the time spent outdoors and toss in a little vacation, it would appear that my sewing projects have slowed. While that may be true in one sense, on the other I have been working on a series of custom orders. When it's too hot outside, I can retreat to my craft room, after my other chores are through!
